CLEVELAND, Tenn. - Covenant resumed its Outdoor Track and Field season on Friday and Saturday at the Lee University Invitational. Led by record-breaking performances from Emma Christensen and Ethan Saiki, the Scots continued to get valuable reps under their belt.Ā
WOMEN'S RESULTS:
- Emma Christensen broke the school record and finished third in the Triple Jump with a jump of 10.15m. The senior also finished seventhĀ in the High Jump with a jump of 1.58m and 26th in the 200m, posting a time of 27.86.
- In the 400m event, Josephine Swinburnson placed eighth with a time of 1:02.65 while Sophia Velleco ran it in 1:04.26 to place 13th. Both times were personal records.
- Swinburnson also competed in the Long Jump where she finished 18th with a jump of 4.38m.
- Daehla Smith featured in three events, led by a 16th-place result in the 100m with a time of 13:49. The other two events Smith competed in were the 200m (28.15, 30th) and Long Jump (4.07m, 21st).
- Evangelia Berry led a group of three Covenant runners in the 1500m event with a time of 5:03.81 to place 19th. Claire Mellott (5:30.49, 37th) and Kali Hina (5:50.01, 52nd) also competed.Ā
- Hina raced in the 800m event as well and placed 32nd with a personal-record time of 2:51.90.Ā
- Covenant also had three runners in the 5,000m event with Emerson Tillery leading the way with a personal-record time of 19:01.20 to place 17th. The other two Covenant runners in the race were Kenzi Stapleton (19:50.49, 28th) and Greta McLean (20:41.31, 35th).
- Sarah Olson was Covenant's lone runner in the 10,000m event where she finished 11th with a time of 41:12.58.
- Sarah Holler with a jump of 1.30m placed ninth in the High Jump and earned an NH in the Pole Vault event.Ā
- Sophia Wiersema headlined Covenant in the throwing events placing 11th in the Shot Put with a throw of 9.70m and 16th in the Discus with a throw of 24.90m.
- Elie Berndt represented the Scots in the Javelin where she had a personal-record throw of 20.18m to finish 14th.Ā
