Athletic Communications Protocols
Media Coverage
Members of the media covering an athletic contest hosted by Covenant should notify the Sports Information Director at least 24 hours before the event in order to allow ample time for setup. Visiting teams are prohibited from providing a video broadcast, unless Covenant is unable to provide a video broadcast.  At the conclusion of athletic contests, the results will be submitted to opposing SIDs and local media outlets along with any additional media as necessary. Covenant reports scores to the Chattanooga Times-Free Press, Chattanoogan.com, and others as necessary.
Photography
If you are a member of the media and want access to a field/court to take photos, please email Will Thornhill (Director of Athletic Communications) at william.thornhill@covenant.edu at least 24 hours in advance of the game to request a media credential pass.Â
Statistics
For most home varsity contests, the Sports Information Office will provide live stats. The links to these stats are provided on the schedule of the sport on the website. For most events, statistics will be provided to the teams and media during halftime and again at the conclusion of the contest (within 30 minutes). Additionally, statistical files will be emailed to the conference, opposing SIDs and local media outlets.
Student Help
The Sports Information Office, along with the Athletics Department, relies heavily on the help of student-workers. Our needs vary from year to year but students assist with photography, website maintenance, statistics, and video. If you are a student at Covenant and interested in working for the Sports Information Office, please contact Will Thornhill at william.thornhill@covenant.edu
Student-Athlete Questionnaire
Athletes are asked to fill out a questionnaire in order to better publicize the athlete and the sport. If you are a current or incoming Covenant athlete, please fill this form out.
