SEWANEE, Tenn. - Covenant ended the indoor season right down the road at the Sewanee Indoor Invitational on Saturday. The Scots took part in limited events as the women finished fourth out of nine teams while the men placed tied fourth out of nine schools.Â
WOMEN'S RESULTS:
- Emma Christensen won the High Jump with a jump of 1.55m. The senior also competed in the 55m dash where she placed fifth with a time of 7.72 and in the Triple Jump where she placed fourth with a jump of 9.99m, for a new school record.
- Covenant had two 4,000m Distance Medley Relay teams with the team of Kenzi Stapleton, Josephine Swinburnson, Sophia Velleco, and Evangelia Berry finishing first with a time of 13:37.32. The team of Greta McLean, Kali Hina, Sarah Olson, and Emerson Tillery placed second with a time of 14:30.37.
- For Pole Vault, Covenant had Sarah Holler compete where she placed third with a jump of 2.85m, which is a new school record.
- Claire Mellott raced in the 1-Mile event and posted a time of 6:05.65 to place sixth.Â
- Hina was Covenant's lone competitor in the 800m run as she finished eighth with a time of 2:56.36.
- Swinburnson led Covenant in the Long Jump with a seventh place finish with a jump of 4.63m.
- Daehla Smith raced in the 55m dash and had a time of 7.92 to place eighth. She also did Long Jump and placed 11th with a jump of 4.29m.
- Elie Berndt competed in two events for the Scots: Triple Jump (8.94m, 9th), Long Jump (3.76m, 12th).
- In the Shot Put event, Sophia Wiersema represented the Scots and placed seventh with a throw of 9.32m.
MEN'S RESULTS:
- The team of Josiah Mellott, Alex Burns, Trey Faulk, and Ethan Saiki broke the school record and finished first in the 4,000m Distance Medley Relay with a time of 11:01.30.
- Chandler Lines, Andor Agustsson, Ethan Caswell, and Jacob Howington also participated as a team for the Scots and finished second with a time of 11:26.73.
- Codey Parrish represented the Scots in the Weight Throw (10th, 9.82m) and the Shot Put (8th, 10.90m).
- Aidan DeVries (10th, 4:54.83) and Jack Dupree (4:58.28) raced in the 1-Mile run for Covenant.Â
