DANVILLE, Ky. - The Scots continued Indoor Track and Field season at the Centre Indoor Showcase on Saturday. Highlighted by one event win from both teams, the women placed seventh out of 15 teams while the men finished 10th out of 15 teams.Â
WOMEN'S RESULTS:
- Leading the way on the women's side was Evangelia Berry who placed first in the 5000m event with a time of 19:36.05, which is the second-best time in school history.Â
- Emerson Tillery also had a great showing in the same event, placing second with a time of 20:03.93. Placing fifth in the 5000m with a time of 21:07.69 was freshman Greta McLean.Â
- In the High Jump finals, Emma Christensen placed fifth with a mark of 1.51m. She broke a school record in the 60m prelims with a time of 8.33, but did not advance to finals.Â
- Placing ninth in the Long Jump finals was Josephine Swinburnson with a jump of 4.51m. She also raced in the 300m dash and placed 11th with a time of 45.86.
- Daehla Smith also was in the Long Jump event for the Scots, finishing 17th with a jump of 4.25m.
- Sophia Velleco placed fourth in the 800m run with a time of 2:39.02. Fellow freshman, Kenzi Stapleton, earned sixth place in the 1000m run with a time of 3:25.57.
- Sophia Wiersema competed in the Shot Put event and placed 14th with a throw of 9.75m, which is third-best in school history.Â
- In the Pole Vault event, Sarah Holler had the second-best jump in school history, which was 2.70m to place sixth.Â
- Claire Mellott led Covenant in the 1-Mile event, placing sixth with a time of 6:06.34 while Kali Hina placed 13th with a time of 6:43.21 in the same event.Â
MEN'S RESULTS:
- The Scots earned the 5000m sweep after Ethan Saiki placed first in the event with a time of 15:48.72, which is the third-best time in school history.
- Covenant had five other runners race in the 5000m event: (Alex Burns, 12th, 17:21.38), (Jacob Howington, 13th, 17:23.85), (Samuel Harrelson, 14th, 17:26.06), (Jack Dupree, 15th, 17:39.27).
- Josiah Mellott had a great performance in the 800m run, placing third with a time of 2:06.16.
- Covenant's lone athlete in the 1-Mile run was Chandler Lines who posted a time of 4:44.69 to place fifth.Â
- Ethan Caswell competed in both the 400m (12th, 56.36) and the 1000m (17th, 2:53.64) for Covenant.Â
- Trey Faulk led Covenant in the 1000m run with a time of 2:45.14 to place sixth.Â
- Bodie Rogers made his collegiate debut on Saturday competing in the 200m (27th, 24.54) and the 60m prelims (42nd, 7.50).
