ATLANTA, Ga. -- Sarah Vannoy (Runner of the Week), Evie Fikkert (Rookie of the Week), and Hudson Casto (Rookie of the Week) were named as CCS weekly award winners, announced the conference on Monday.

For Vannoy, the Runner of the Week honor is the second of her cross country career, while Fikkert secures her first CCS weekly award. Casto collects his second career Rookie of the Week distinction.

Vannoy, a sophomore from Woodinville, Wash., posted another impressive showing at the Southern Showcase on Friday, placing 11th of 309 competitors with a time of 19:25 in the 5k. That mark helped the Scots place sixth of 26 institutions.

Fikkert, a freshman from Mount Vernon, Wash., came in 49th at the Southern Showcase in Huntsville, running a 20:56 in the 5k, which was third-best among Scots runners at the event.

Casto, a freshman from Naples, Fla., landed 51st of 239 at the Southern Showcase with his 27:50 in the 8k. That finish was second-best among Covenant men's runners and helped the Scots place 10th at the event.

Vannoy, Fikkert, and Casto return to the course on Saturday, October 3, at the Mountain Goat Invitational, hosted by Sewanee.
