HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - Covenant Men's and Women's Cross Country got to compete under the lights on Friday night at the Twilight at John Hunt.Â
As the Scots did in their first two tournaments, they ended the meet near the top of the leaderboard. The women's team finished third in the 5k out of 16 schools, while the men's team placed fourth in the 8k out of 18 schools.Â
WOMEN'S RESULTS
- Freshman Lucie Demers led a group of three Covenant runners who placed inside the top-10 with a time of 19:43.30 to place seventh. It's her first time finishing as the top Covenant runner.Â
- Just a few seconds behind Demers was Emerson Tillery, crossing the finish line at 19:45.65 to place eighth. She has finished inside the top-10 in every meet so far in the 2025 season.Â
- Sarah Olson rounded out Covenant's impressive top-three with a ninth-place finish and a time of 20:04.46.
- The next Covenant runner on the leaderboard was Kenzi Stapleton, earning a 15th-place result with a time of 20:31.39.Â
- Aida Okie secured a 29th-place finish in the race, as she posted a time of 21:16.37.Â
- Claire Mellott (40th, 21:50.85) and Maggie McGinley (43rd, 21:56.75) were right with each other the whole way.Â
- Covenant's final two runners to finish were Leah Russ (54th, 22:31.95) and Arielle Eklund (95th, 26:17.27).
MEN'S RESULTS
- Ethan Saiki was Covenant's fastest runner by nearly a minute, finishing third with a PR time of 26:08.68. He's finished inside the top-four in all three of Covenant's races this year.Â
- Trey Mortensen was Covenant's second-best runner, crossing the finish line with a time of 27:05.88. The freshman placed 22nd on the leaderboard in the third meet of his career.Â
- Finishing 30th with a time of 27:30.41 was Alex Burns, who also set a new PR.Â
- Aidan DeVries took home 47th with a PR time of 28:18.94 as he was Covenant's fourth runner to finish.Â
- Right behind DeVries was Daniel Bowles with a time of 28:19.25, finishing right behind him at 48th place.Â
- Chander Lines (53rd, 28:27.06) and Jack Dupree (59th, 28:37.42) each finished inside the top-60, securing PR times.Â
