ATLANTA, Ga. - The Collegiate Conference of the South released its Preseason Poll for Men's Basketball on Tuesday afternoon as Covenant was picked to finish fifth. Voting was conducted by Head Coaches across the league. 

Head Coach Josh Brown, who is going into his fourth year at Covenant, scheduled the Blue and White to begin its season this weekend at the Hawks vs Hunger Tip-Off, hosted by Hilbert College in Upstate New York.

Covenant is coming off a 9-16 season where it had a 4-8 CCS record to finish tied-fourth place in the league standings. 

The Scots return forward Pierce Smith who was the CCS Defensive Player of the Year and Second Team All-CCS. Additionally, First Team All-CCS guard Logan Patterson is also back for Covenant. Luuk Dusek is another key piece returning for the Scots, after averaging 10.6 points per game and shooting 39.6% from the 3-point line a year ago. 

Other returnees for the Scots looking to play their role in the team's fast-paced offense are Thomas Malcolm, Korbin Long, Zach Wescher, Gus Hood, Isaac Rorey, Cole Carroll, Ethan Parker, Derrius Teagle, Jake Stephens, Fisher Mitchell, and James White.

Covenant brings in five freshmen (Lucas Bryant, Chris Kunard, Blake Batts, Luke Deininger, Bolton Born) to the team coming from four different states (2x Alabama, North Carolina, Florida, Tennessee).  The Scots also dipped into the Transfer Portal to build out this year's team, bringing in Noah Pence from Ohio Christian and Zach Amonett from UA-Huntsville.
