ATLANTA, Ga. -- Covenant men's basketball's
Pierce Smith was named the CCS Defensive Player of the Year, while
Logan Patterson and
Thomas Malcolm joined him in earning All-CCS awards.
Due to his distinction, Smith was also honored as an All-CCS first team recipient, while Patterson was named to the All-CCS second team and Malcolm to the CCS All-Sportsmanship group.
Smith, a junior from Ooltewah, Tenn., was a force inside for the Scots on both ends, ranking eighth in the CCS in points per game (14.5), and first in rebounds (7.7), field goal percentage (.562), and blocks (3.2) per game.
On top of that, Smith's 80 blocks rank first in the CCS, both this season and all-time in the conference's history, while also tying the program record for most in a season. His 187 career blocks are far and away the most for a single career in Covenant men's hoops history, and he set a single-game program and conference record with 10 blocks against Belhaven (Jan. 16).
Smith's most dominant performance of the season came against Piedmont on Jan. 17, where he scored 25 points and secured 19 rebounds, while also adding a pair of blocks.
Patterson, a senior from Section, Ala., concludes his two-year stint on Lookout Mountain with two All-CCS honors. He finished fourth in the conference in scoring (15.6), and steals (2.1), shooting 30.7 percent from distance.
Patterson notched a career-best 29 points in a road win at Bob Jones, going 10-of-19 from the field and 7-of-13 from distance to propel Covenant to the win.
Malcolm, a junior from Duluth, Ga., was a key reserve for the Scots in 2025-26, averaging 3.8 points, 2.4 boards, and 0.7 steals per game in 8.7 minutes per game. He scored a career-best 10 points on a perfect 4-of-4 field goals in a close game against LaGrange (Feb. 14).
The Scots will attempt to advance in the CCS Tournament tonight against Belhaven at 7 p.m.
