BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - After having its meet last weekend canceled due to winter weather, Covenant Track and Field was eager to compete on Saturday at the Samford Indoor Open. Highlighted by four school records, the Scots had a successful day.Â
WOMEN'S RESULTS:
- Emma Christensen competed in two events as she ran the 60m in 8.40 and the 200m in 27.77 to lead a trio of Scots in this event.Â
- Highlighted by a school-record jump of 4.71m in the Long Jump, Josephine Swinburnson competed in three events. Her other two showings came in the 400m with a time of 1:04.14 and the 200m with a time of 28.74.Â
- Daehla Smith was the other Covenant athlete to compete in three events: (4.08m, Long Jump), (1:08.08, 400m), and (29.32, 200m).
- For the second meet in a row, Sophia Wiersema broke her school record in the Shot Put, with a throw of 10.50m.Â
- Sophia Velleco led Covenant in the 800m with a time of 2:44.80 while also posting a 1:05.38 time in the 400m.Â
- Distance runners Evangelia Berry (5:26.73), Kenzi Stapleton (5:47.90), and Emerson Tillery (5:54.44) all raced in the 1 Mile while Greta McLean (11:52.21) and Claire Mellott (12:32.16) competed in the 3000m.Â
- Sarah Holler earned an NH in the Pole Vault.Â
