LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN -- A full, 40-game, schedule awaits the Covenant baseball team in 2022. The Scots are set to get the season started on Feb. 11 at home against Emory.

Under 16th-year head coach Doug Simons, the Scots are scheduled for 21 home games and 19 away from Lookout Mountain.

The season opens with a three-game series against region foe Emory. Game one will be on Lookout Mountain on Feb. 11 followed by a doubleheader in Atlanta on Feb. 12 to conclude the series. Covenant returns home on Feb. 19 to play Oglethorpe twice before hosting Emory & Henry for three games on Feb. 25-26.

A busy month of March begins with a three-game series against former USA South member Ferrum on March 4-5. All three games are set to take place at Smokies Stadium in Kodak, Tenn., home of the Chicago Cubs' double-A affiliate Tennessee Smokies. 

Other road trips in March include at Bob Jones (March 11-12) and the USA South-opening series at Huntingdon (March 18-19). The Scots will host Berry (March 15) and Sewanee (March 22) along with a three-game set against LaGrange (March 25-26) to close out the month.

In April, Covenant hosts USA South series against Brevard (April 1-2) and Maryville (April 15-16), along with a non-conference series against Bob Jones (April 22-23). The Scots also travel to Piedmont (April 8-9) and Berea (April 29-30).

The USA South Tournament is set to begin on May 5 with a split tournament format featuring two brackets. Bracket winners will face each other on May 12-14 in a three-game championship series for the NCAA automatic berth.

SCHEDULE NOTES

• Bob Jones is the only opponent on the schedule the Scots have never faced. The two programs were scheduled to play last season on Lookout Mountain, but the series was canceled. Bob Jones' program enters its second year.
• Ferrum and Covenant have not faced each other since 2015. The Scots are 3-3 all-time against the Panthers, including two wins in 2014 that ultimately gave Covenant the USA South title and NCAA Tournament berth.
• Covenant has faced Berry and Maryville 36 times each in modern program history.
