ATLANTA, Ga. -- Covenant baseball freshman catcher
Daniel Counts was named the CCS Player of the Week, announced the conference on Monday.
The award is the first of the campaign for Counts.
A freshman from Clemson, S.C., Counts hit .538 (7-for-13) while posting a 1.308 slugging percentage, with three of those hits being homers. Counts also drove in eight RBIs, scored seven runs and added a double. Defensively, he recorded 21 putouts and three assists.
On the season, Counts leads the CCS with eight home runs and is hitting .321 overall with six doubles.
Counts and the Scots are back in action against Berry tomorrow at 6 p.m. in Mount Berry.
