SEWANEE, Tenn. -- Covenant women's tennis made an appearance at the ITA South Regional Championships on Friday and Saturday, with sophomore
Landry McKinney making a run to the quarterfinals in her flight to highlight the event.
McKinney began her run with a 6-0, 6-0 sweep of Jaysa Kate Whatley of MUW before taking down Berry's Sloane Vaccaro, 6-0, 6-1. Her run was concluded in the next round by Ayla Daoud of Sewanee, who won 6-4, 6-4.Â
In the first flight,
Maisie Tanchanpongs battled with Emory's Rachel Hernandez, ultimately falling 7-6 (2), 6-2. In flight B,
Estee Verdery matched up with Sadie Burdell of Sewanee, and Verdery fell 6-1, 6-2 in that match.
Charlotte Scarborough rounded out the flight B competitors with a 6-0, 7-5 loss to Malory Watkins of Asbury.
UP NEXT
The Scots get a couple of weeks off before scrimmaging against Shorter on October 15 at 2 p.m. in Rome, Ga.
