Tanchanpongs, Cummings Garner All-CCS Honors

ATLANTA, Ga. -- Covenant women's tennis freshman Maisie Tanchanpongs was named the CCS Rookie of the Year and an All-CCS First Team member, while Katie Cummings earned CCS All-Sportsmanship honors, announced the conference on Wednesday.

Tanchanpongs, a freshman from Bangkok, Thailand, had a stellar freshman campaign for the Scots, going 14-4 in her singles matches (5-1 in CCS singles), while going 10-8 in doubles (4-2 in CCS). She competed at the No. 1 slot primarily in her matches this season.

Over the course of the year, Tanchanpongs won two Rookie of the Week honors, two Player of the Week awards, and two Doubles Team of the Week designations. She is the second Scot to win CCS Rookie of the Year.

Cummings, a sophomore from Marietta, Ga., finished the season 6-12 in singles play and 7-11 in doubles, playing primarily at No. 4 singles and splitting time between No. 2 and 3 doubles slots.

The women will look to continue their CCS Tournament run against Piedmont tomorrow at 10 a.m.
