LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga. -- Covenant women's tennis senior
Christina English was named a College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District® honoree, announced the organization on Tuesday.
CSC, formerly known as CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes basketball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
A senior from St. Louis, Mo., English compiled a 10-9 singles record and 7-13 doubles record during her senior season, which included a 6-3 record in CCS matches. She helped the Scots reach the CCS semifinals with her 6-3, 6-1 win over Adams of Huntingdon on Apr. 23.
Majoring in business, English has now picked up two CSC Academic All-District awards.
To be eligible for the CSC Academic All-America® program, students must have a 3.50 cumulative GPA, be a significant contributor to the team (having started in 66 percent of the team's games or played in over 90 percent of those games), and be at least a sophomore academically.
