ATLANTA, Ga. -- Covenant track and field had four athletes win weekly honors:
Evangelia Berry,
Josephine Swinburnson,
Cam Bain, and
Max Davis, announced the conference on Tuesday.
The honors are the first weekly awards for each of the athletes.
Berry, a junior from Morgantown, W.Va., competed in the 1500m at the Mountain Laurel Open last weekend, finishing 11th in a field of 23 runners with a time of 5:34.23, earning her the CCS Women's Track Athlete of the Week.
Swinburnson, a sophomore from Marysville, Wash., recorded a top-five finish in the long jump at the Mountain Laurel Open on April 18, placing fifth out of nine competitors. The sophomore posted a mark of 4.48 meters (14' 8.5"), gaining her the CCS Women's Field Athlete of the Week.
Bain, a freshman from Alpharetta, Ga., competed in the 400m at the Mountain Laurel Open, finishing ninth in a field of 12 with a time of 55.42, gaining the CCS Men's Track Athlete of the Week.
Finally, Davis, a freshman from Chickamauga, Ga., recorded a mark of 12.05 meters (39' 6.5") in the shot put at the Mountain Laurel Open, placing 12th among 25 competitors.This mark was worthy of the CCS Men's Field Athlete of the Week.
The Scots compete in the CCS Championships today and tomorrow to attempt to earn the CCS Championship crown.
