LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga. – Covenant played host to Huntingdon in an important CCS matchup. The Scots battled hard and picked up a big 5-2 win over the Hawks.
The Hawks put themselves in prime position to earn the all important doubles point as Dalyce Sanders and Anna Beth Adams earned a 6-1 win over Katie Cummings and Christina English at number three. Covenant responded at number two as Landry McKinney and Ora Hall grabbed a 6-3 win over Athens DeVer and Ansley Lanier 6-3 that set the stage at number one.
Maisie Tanchanpongs and Estee Verdery were able to deliver at the top spot as they beat Lilly Brown and Katie-John Crow in a tight 7-5 match.
Tanchanpongs won her second match of the day at the top spot as she beat Brown 6-1, 6-3. The Hawks narrowed the margin as Sanders picked up a much needed win over Verdery 6-2, 6-2 at number two. McKinney was able to deliver for the Scots at number three as she knocked off Crow 6-1, 6-2 to put the Scots one match away.
Huntingdon responded again as Lanier picked up a 6-2, 7-5 win over Cummings at number four. English delivered the clinch for Covenant as she got a hard-fought 7-5, 6-2 win against Adams at number five. Hall got one more win for the Scots as she won 7-5, 6-1 over DeVer.
