ATLANTA, Ga. -- Covenant softball freshman infielder
Julie Mavity was tabbed as the CCS Rookie of the Week, announced the conference on Monday.
The weekly honor is the second for Mavity this season.
Mavity, from Ider, Ala., continued her strong start to the season, batting .571 (8-for-14) to help Covenant to a 3–1 week. The freshman tallied two doubles and two triples while scoring six runs and driving in three more.
Mavity delivered a game-winning RBI against Salem on Saturday, and finished with a 1.000 slugging percentage and .625 on-base percentage while also contributing defensively with eight putouts and two assists in the field.
Mavity and the Scots will return to action tomorrow against Cairn at 11 a.m. and then Penn College at 3 p.m.
