Men's Soccer To Host USA South West Division Tournament First Round

LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN -- The No. 1 West seeded Covenant men's soccer team will host No. 4 seed Huntingdon in the first round of the USA South West Division Tournament on Saturday at Scotland Yard.

Kick-off is set for 2 p.m.

FAN POLICY

  • Only Covenant students/faculty/staff along with family members listed on the Covenant men's soccer team's pass list will be allowed to attend the match, per USA South policy. Covenant students/faculty/staff must show a valid Covenant ID at the front gate.
  • No visiting fans or family members are allowed.
  • Masks MUST be worn at all times when inside Scotland Yard.

NOTES

  • The winner of Saturday's match moves on to the USA South West Division championship match on Saturday, April 10 against the winner of Piedmont-Brevard. As the No. 1 seed, Covenant has home-field advantage throughout the tournament.
  • Covenant and Huntingdon are meeting for the second time this season at Scotland Yard. The two teams met on March 6 and Covenant rallied for a 3-1 win with goals from Knox Gibson, Anthony Calbo, and Keegan Weekley. Huntingdon's Kelan LeBlanc scored in the third minute to give the Hawks a 1-0 lead before the Scots came back for the win.
  • Covenant (5-2, 5-1 USA South) enters the tournament on a three-match win streak. Gibson leads the Scots with eight points (three goals, two assists) on the year while Mercer Stout has scored three goals.
  • Huntingdon (4-3, 3-2 USA South) defeated Berea, 1-0, on March 20 to finish the regular season. The Hawks are led offensively by Hunter Hall's eight goals, while LeBlanc has scored three times.
  • Covenant is 8-4-2 in USA South postseason tournaments since joining the conference in 2013.
