LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN -- The No. 2 West seeded Covenant men's soccer team is set to travel to Cary, N.C., for the USA South Tournament semifinals to take on No. 1 East seed William Peace on Friday at 12 p.m.

TOURNAMENT NOTES:
- Friday's winner moves on to the USA South Tournament championship match on Saturday at 4Â p.m. at WakeMed Park against the winner of No. 2 East seed N.C. Wesleyan and No. 4 East seed Averett.
- Covenant (10-3-3) advanced to the semifinals with a 3-1 win over Greensboro in the first round on Saturday on Lookout Mountain. Mercer Stout scored two goals in the first half and Parker Owen tallied a penalty kick in the second half to give the Scots the win.
- Covenant is on a 12-match unbeaten streak, the longest since 2002. It is tied for the fifth-longest unbeaten stretch in program history. During the streak, the Scots have six shutouts.
- The Scots have seven shutouts on the year and rank second in the USA South in goals against average (0.96). Goalkeeper Henry Hooks enters the weekend second in the conference in goals against average (0.98) and first in shutouts with six.
- The Scots are seeking their first USA South Tournament title since 2014. Covenant has played in each of the last two championship matches (2018 and 2019) and last spring's West Division Tournament title bout.
- Covenant is 6-0 all-time vs. William Peace. The teams last met in Cary, N.C., in 2019 with the Scots rallying for a 2-1 victory en route to a perfect USA South regular season (13-0).
- William Peace (12-1-1) claimed the USA South East Division regular season title with a 5-1-1 conference record. The Pacers went 6-0-1 on their home turf (WakeMed Park) this season, including a 3-1 win over Huntingdon in the first round of the USA South Tournament last Saturday.
- The Pacers put nine players on All-USA South teams, including three (goalkeeper Jacob Smith along with Rush Campbell and Jorge Lemus) on the All-USA South first team. Smith led the USA South in save percentage and tallied three saves this year. Lemus is fifth in the USA South in goals (11), while teammate Ivan Ponce is second with 13.
- William Peace leads the USA South in scoring (52 goals, 3.71 per match) and ranks third in team goals against average (0.98).Â
