LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN – The 2012 soccer season gets underway on Friday night for the Covenant Scots. The Scots are traveling to Pennsylvania, along with the Lady Scots, to play a pair of matches against Messiah College and Franklin & Marshall College. Friday night's match against Messiah is set for 7:30 p.m. and Saturday's against Franklin & Marshall is at 6:00 p.m.

The Scots are coming off an 8-10-2 season and a loss in the championship match of the NCCAA Mid-East Regional against Oakland City. Top returners for this year's squad include seniors Chris Pifer (Lookout Mountain, Ga.) and Tyler Morrison (Slidell, La.) along with juniors Matt Hudnut (Florissant, Mo.) and Garrison Dale (Statesville, N.C.). Junior Shuler Polk (Fountain Inn, S.C.) is the man charged with protecting the net this season.

Nathan Pifer enters his fourth season as the head coach of the Scots. Pifer has a record of 35-24-3 in his first three years on the job.
