The Covenant College Scots earned the trip to the tourney this year by way of the only at-large bid available.  The team was eliminated in the Mid-East Region semi-finals, where they were forced into extra time and penalty kicks.  Their 13-6-1 season effort included an eleven game winning streak.

Hope International currently stands at 9-9-1 and comes to the tourney from the West Region.  The Royals, who entered into the NCCAA's top ten during the last week of the regular season, have reached the championship game of the national tournament twice in their history (1994 and 1996).
