ATLANTA, Ga. -- Freshman golfer Porter Weeks was named the CCS Rookie of the Week, announced the conference on Wednesday.

The honor is the first of Weeks' career.

Weeks, a freshman from Nashville, Tenn., won the award after tying for sixth place in his collegiate debut at the Bob Jones Bruins Classic on Monday and Tuesday, shooting a 7-over, 151 in his two rounds.

Weeks has accumulated four birdies to this point in the season, and finished second among all golfers at the Bob Jones Bruins Classic with 23 pars.

Weeks and the Scots will resume their fall season on October 5 and 6 at the West Pines Classic in Douglasville, Ga.
