LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga. -- After a nationwide search, Cole Cristian has been tabbed the Covenant Assistant Men's Soccer Coach, announced Director of Athletics John Hirte.
"Covenant men's soccer program has a rich history of excellent soccer, cohesive team culture, and the pursuit of Christlikeness," said Cristian. "I am thrilled by the opportunity to join the team and bring my expertise to help further the team's mission."
Cristian comes to the Castle on the Hill following a stint as a player at Messiah University in Mechanicsburg, Pa., where as a player, he scored 13 goals and assisted on 21 more, including a nine-goal, nine-assist season in 2022, helping the Falcons go 20-0-2 and reach the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
"I am thrilled that Cole has decided to come join our men's soccer staff," said Hirte. "His experience as a high-level Division III soccer player combined with his heart and passion for discipleship will serve him well as he begins his college coaching career."
In addition to his decorated playing career, Cristian gained coaching experience as the head coach for Keystone F.C. Elite in 2023-24, and more recently, grew as a leader and teacher as a physical education instructor for 3rd-5th graders in Susquehanna, Pa.
"I am thrilled Cole is joining our men's soccer staff at Covenant, said Covenant men's soccer head coach
Scott Bosgraf. "Cole comes from an elite program with a great culture at Messiah and will be a great asset for our program in discipleship, technical training, and servant leadership."
Cristian's teams at Messiah reached the NCAA Tournament in every year he played, including an appearance in the NCAA quarterfinals in 2021.
Bosgraf added, "Cole is a natural fit to help Covenant men's soccer continue to grow and I am excited to work with him to help our young men grow on and off the pitch."
