ATLANTA, Ga. - The Collegiate Conference of the South announced its All-Conference teams and Yearly Award winners on Wednesday afternoon. Eight players from the Scots were recognized as All-Conference, the most out of all seven teams, while senior
Fox Landgren and Head Coach
Scott Bosgraf won their respective awards.
Landgren was named Defensive Player of the Year, becoming the third Covenant player to win this CCS award. A Team Captain from Homewood, Alabama, Landgren was a key player in Covenant's back line that kept five shutouts, including four in CCS play. He also made his presence known offensively, scoring three goals and dishing out two assists for the year. To go along with this award, he was also named First Team All-CCS.
Bosgraf, for the third year in a row, was named Coach of the Year. He led the Scots to their third consecutive CCS Regular Season Championship with a 5-1 CCS record. In nonconference play, Bosgraf guided his side to a pair of wins over Oglethorpe and ties against then-No. 4 Washington and Lee and then-No. 10 Babson.Â
The other Covenant players who made the cut on the First Team included:
Jackson Bostrom,
Henry Parker,
Jonathan Welsh, and
Noah Jones.
Bostrom was an important piece of the Covenant attack all year, netting a team-high seven goals to go along with two assists. He scored both of Covenant's goals in the tie against Babson. Welsh also had an eye for goal this season scoring five goals and totaling three assists as one of Covenant's midfielders.Â
Parker led Covenant in assists with four and also bagged one goal while leading the Covenant midfield. Jones led all players in minutes played at 1,314, which shows his quality in defense for the Scots.Â
Covenant's representatives on the Second Team included:
Whitt Tisdale,
Sean Freace, and
Eli Honeycutt.
Tisdale netted four goals in his senior campaign, including the game-winner in a crucial match at Belhaven. The Augusta, Georgia native also delivered one assist on the season. Freace, Covenant's lone freshman named All-Conference, was a wall in defense, when he was inserted into the starting lineup in late September, all the way through the end of the regular season. In Covenant's win vs. LaGrange, Freace tallied an assist in attack.
Lastly, Honeycutt totaled 56 saves with a 0.747 save percentage for the year. The senior kept four shutouts and one combined shutout.Â
J.T. Gard was Covenant's representative on the All-Sportsmanship Team.
Covenant returns to the pitch on Saturday for the CCS Semifinals against Piedmont or LaGrange at 2:30 p.m.
