ATLANTA, Ga. -- Covenant softball freshman Elizabeth Yother tallied the CCS Rookie of the Week honor, announced the conference on Monday.

The award is the first Rookie of the Week for Yother and her second weekly honor overall.

Yother, from Vestavia Hills, Ala., clinched a key conference win against Asbury on Friday, firing seven scoreless frames in a 1-0 win. She allowed just three hits and struck out five in that game, preserving her first collegiate shutout performance.

On the season, Yother has a 3.59 ERA over 80 innings, accumulating 71 strikeouts, 11 complete games, and a shutout.

Yother and the Scots are back in action on Friday atop Lookout Mountain when they host Johnson and Wales at 1 & 3 p.m.
