ATLANTA, Ga. - The Collegiate Conference of the South released its weekly award winners for Men's and Women's Cross Country on Monday afternoon with three Covenant student-athletes recognized. 

For Men's Cross Country, Ethan Saiki was honored as Runner of the Week while Trey Mortensen was named Rookie of the Week. Lucie Demers won Rookie of the Week for Women's Cross Country. Each of these three student-athletes have won their respective awards after all three Covenant meets to begin the 2025 season. 

Saiki led the Scots at the Twilight at John Hunt with a third-place finish in the 8k with a PR time of 26:06.68. The junior has finished inside the top four in all three races so far this fall for Covenant. 

Mortensen was the next Covenant runner to finish, posting a time of 27:05.88 to place 22nd on the leaderboard. His time is also a new PR. 

Demer's led Women's Cross Country in the 5k with a time of 19:43.30 to place seventh. It mark's the first time the freshman has been Covenant's top runner on the leaderboard. 

Covenant returns to competition this weekend at the Live in Lou Classic and Berry College Invite.
