DALTON, Ga. - It was a historic day for Men's Golf as play concluded at the CCS Championship. Drew Silman finished in first place, becoming the first player in school history to win a Conference Championship.
As a team, Covenant placed third with a score of (+47) after having its best round of the tournament on Wednesday, shooting 297 (+9) as a team. This marks the best Conference Championship finish for Covenant in the NCAA Division III era, dating back to 2013.Â
HOW IT HAPPENED:
-
Silman completed his wire-to-wire win with a round of 74 (+2) to finish the week at (-2). With the lead firmly in his hands, Silman was steady, shooting even par on the final nine holes to earn a five-stroke victory. He made 14 pars for the round and one birdie on the par-five, 10th hole.Â
-
Titus Cooke jumped five places up the leaderboard to tied 10th with an even-par round of 72. The senior ended the week at (+10). He had a really solid day with three birdies on the scorecard.Â
-
