ATLANTA, Ga. - The Collegiate Conference of the South announced its All-Conference teams and Yearly Award winners on Thursday morning for Women's Soccer. The Scots had six players recognized as all conference honorees, the second most out of the nine CCS schools.
Covenant had two players selected for First Team in AnnaLi Weekley and Gretchen Caswell.
Weekley led the Scots attack throughout the year by scoring three goals and tallying at team-high five assists. She scored a goal in a close conference win over Huntingdon and had an assist in a win against Asbury to help Covenant secure home-field advantage in the CCS Quarterfinals.
Caswell anchored the Scots defense, which totaled four shutouts and gave up just one goal per game in conference play. She also played the full 90 minutes in eight of the Scots' sixteen contests.
Representing Covenant on the Second Team was Georgie Strawbridge, Hannah Ford, Autumn Biancamano, and Bronwyn Kickasola.
Strawbridge, Covenant's lone freshman selected for All-Conference, scored three goals and had two assists while leading the Scots in shots taken. She also scored the game-winning goal in a non-conference match against Greenville. Ford was another key contributor for Covenant, totaling two goals and two assists on the season. The senior scored a key goal in a tie with LaGrange, as well as a crucial assist in the Scots' win over Huntingdon. Biancamano was a key piece of the Scots defense, playing the full 90 minutes in seven of the Scots' matches. Kickasola had another solid season for the Scots as she made 73 saves and turned back 71% of the shots sent her way. She also had four shutouts on the year.
Adelle Stumbo was Covenant's representative for the All-Sportsmanship team.
The Scots will take the field on Saturday at 12:00 at home against Asbury in the CCS Quarterfinals.
