LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga. – Covenant took on Asbury at home in the CCS Quarterfinals, looking to begin a postseason run. The Scots battled hard, but were unable to repeat their regular-season victory over the Eagles as their season came to a close.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Scots controlled the game early, getting several good looks inside the box.
- They finally made true on their seventh shot attempt at the 15-minute mark as Tess Duble scored with her left foot off of a well-placed centering feed from Georgie Stawbridge.
- At the 34-minute mark, Hannah Muncie scored on a penalty kick after a Covenant foul was called in the box, tying the match before halftime.
- At the half, Covenant had outshot Asbury 10-3.
- Asbury struck early in the second half as Muncie scored her second goal of the game off an assist from Anna Sparks.
- At the 57-minute mark, Sparks scored a goal of her own as she found a ball that had squirted out of the crowd to give the Eagles a commanding 3-1 lead.
- AnnaLi Weekley put up multiple good-looking shots as the Scots tried to come back, but were unable to convert as Asbury advanced to the CCS Semifinals.
GAME NOTES:
- Covenant moves to 7-5 all-time against Asbury.Â
- Covenant outshot Asbury 20-9 while putting 11 on goal to the Eagles' five.
- Covenant had eight corner kick opportunities to Asbury's two.
- Both teams were called for eight fouls.
