Brooke Kinley Hired as Assistant Softball Coach

LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga. - Covenant Softball Head Coach Kara LeLeux has announced the hiring of Brooke Kinley as the new Assistant Coach for Softball.

"I am thrilled to have Brooke join me on staff to continue growing the Softball program here at Covenant both on and off the field," LeLeux said. "She is passionate about investing in student-athletes spiritually and athletically. I am thankful that the Lord has guided Brooke to Covenant and am excited to see how He uses her in our program"

Kinley recently graduated from Greensboro College in May, earning a B.S. in Exercise and Sport Study with a concentration in Sport Management. While enrolled in school, Kinley spent time on both the Women's Basketball team and Softball team.

"I am excited to go on this journey that God has planned for me at Covenant! I would like to thank Coach LeLeux and Director of Athletics, John Hirte, for this amazing opportunity that they have given me to serve the Lord and the softball team here at Covenant," Kinley said. "I am looking forward to the season and seeing Christ work through these young ladies!"

During Kinley's senior year with the softball program, the Pride finished 33-10 and 14-4 in the USA South, which was good enough for second place in the conference standings. She had 26 hits and 12 RBIs for the year. In two seasons as a member of the women's basketball team, Kinley appeared in 25 games.

This past winter, Kinley was the Head Middle School Girls Basketball Coach at Greensboro Day School. She worked specifically with the girls to drive individual skills, competitiveness, and team cohesion.

Additionally, Kinley served as the Head Resident Advisor at Greensboro College. In this role, she mentored six RA's and developed educational programs for residents among several other responsibilities.

Kinley has done mission trip work in her home state of North Carolina and abroad in Guatemala. In Morganton, N.C. she helped pack bags of non-perishable food items for those in need. While in Guatemala, she helped build a house for a family and volunteered at a local school to help with vacation bible school.

In addition to her role as Assistant Softball Coach, Kinley will help with home events for fall sports.
