LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga. -- Covenant softball junior
Myla Still was named a recipient of a CSC Academic All-District selection, announced the organization on Tuesday.
CSC, formerly known as CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes basketball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.Â
Still, a junior from Thomasville, Ga., played in 41 of the Scots' 42 games this season, and racked up five hits, including a double, along with three RBIs. Her walk-off fielder's choice helped Covenant upend Kentucky Christian on February 21.Â
Majoring in psychology, the honor is the first of Still's career.
To be eligible for the CSC Academic All-America® program, students must have a 3.50 cumulative GPA, be a significant contributor to the team (having started in 66 percent of the team's games or played in over 90 percent of those games), and be at least a sophomore academically.
