NEW ORLEANS -- Covenant women's track and field senior
S.K. Lipperd added another award to her decorated career as she earned USTFCCCA All-South Region honors in the 800-meter, announced the organization this week.
Lipperd is the second women's athlete in program history to earn all-region after
Claire Mackes collected honors in two events last season.
Top-five individuals in each event from each region earned All-Region honors, in addition to each of the members of a top-three ranked relay team. Only USTFCCCA member programs are eligible for awards.
A senior, and recent graduate, from Birmingham, Ala., Lipperd had the fourth-best time in the 800-meter run in the south region for Division III. Her program-record time of 2:18.62 came at the Emory Thrills in the Hills Open on March 25 and marked the first time a Covenant runner broke the 2:20 mark in the event. The time was also tops in the USA South.
Lipperd was a three-time All-USA South honoree this season with individual titles in the 800 and 1500-meter events. She earned second team All-USA South as part of the 4x400 relay team.
She set personal records in three events during the year (400-meter, 800-meter, 1500-meter) and had six event wins, including all three 1500-meter events in which she competed.
Combined with her cross country efforts in the fall, Lipperd was a two-time all-region runner and earned four All-USA South accolades in the 2021-22 year.
