LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga. -- Covenant track and field athletes
Alex Burns and
Ethan Saiki were selected as CSC Academic All-District recipients, announced the organization on Tuesday.
CSC, formerly known as CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the playing field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes track and field honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.Â
Burns, a junior from Charlotte, N.C., assisted the Scots to a third-place finish at the CCS Championships with his silver medal performance in the 10k and bronze in the 5k, while also helping set a program record in the indoor distance medley relay (11:01.21) at Centre (Feb. 13-14).
Majoring in biblical and theological studies, the award is the first of Burns' career.
Saiki, a junior from Bakersfield, Calif., had a banner season in 2026, winning the CCS Track Athlete of the Year and All-CCS First Team honors, along with the CCS Athlete of the Meet and CCS Track Athlete of the Meet at the CCS Championships, where he finished first in the 1500m, 5k, and 10k.Â
Majoring in pre-engineering, Saiki has now landed his first CSC Academic All-District award.
To be eligible for the CSC Academic All-America® program, students must have a 3.50 cumulative GPA, have finished in the top 50 in an NCAA cross-country regional or individual indoor or outdoor track event, and be at least a sophomore academically.
