MONTEVALLO, Ala. --
S.K. Lipperd claimed two wins and the Covenant track and field programs set five program records at the Falcon Classic, hosted by the University of Montevallo, on Saturday.
The meet was completed in one day after rain on Friday forced the postponement of that night's events.
The Covenant women placed fifth overall with 56 points, while the men were 10th with 14 points.
Lipperd earned wins in both the 800-meter and 1500-meter events. She coasted to a win in the 800-meter with a time of 2:23.25, four seconds faster than the runner-up, to collect her second win in the event this season. In the 1500-meter, Lipperd posted a personal-record time of 4:53.38 to place first.
Covenant put three runners in the top-10 in the 1500-meter run as
Mattie Parker (5:08.16) placed fourth and
Maggie Henry (5:10.58) was fifth. Parker and Henry also had top-10 runs in the 800-meter as Henry was sixth at 2:31.40 and Parker eighth at 2:32.94.
The women's team had four program records set in field events.
Jae Woods topped her own program records in the shot put and discus events. Woods placed fourth in the discus with a mark of 33.70 meters after setting the program record in the shot put at 9.30 meters.
Emma Christensen bested her program record in the high jump with a high mark of 1.50 meters to finish third.
Sarah Holler also toppled her program record in the pole vault at 2.78 meters to place fifth.
On the men's side,
Seth Bergeron claimed first in the 1500-meter event with a program record time of 4:03.80. It was Bergeron's first victory in the 1500-meter.
The Scots had three finish in the top-15 of the 5,000-meter run, led by
Ben Mellott's seventh-place finish and time of 15:34.36.
Josiah Mellott was 12th at 15:46.34, while
Benjamin Jones was 13th at 15:47.97.Â
Noah Norman posted a strong time of 51.09 and finished seventh in the 400-meter, while
Josh Leak was 13th in the event at 53.10.
Nate Moore set a personal record in the 800-meter at 2:02.13 to finish ninth overall.
The women's team also had two other top-10 finishes.
Elysse Carrillo placed fifth in the 400-meter with a time of 1:01.10, while
Anna Baker was sixth in the 100-meter hurdles at 18.50.
