LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN – The Covenant Lady Scots soccer team begins the 2012 regular season with a trip to Pennsylvania for a pair of matches on August 31 and September 1. Covenant will take on reigning NCAA Division III Champion and preseason No. 1 Messiah College on Friday at 5:00 p.m. before taking on Franklin & Marshall College on Saturday at 3:00 p.m.
The Messiah match has been selected by the NCAA Division III Facebook page as a nominee for Game of the Week. Fans can vote for the match to be selected at this link. If selected, the NCAA Division III social media team will feature the winning match-up on the Facebook page and showcase information such as stories, photos and/or videos from the contest
Head Coach Mark Duble, entering his 19th season at the helm of the Lady Scots, believes the chance to play the reigning national champion is a great opportunity to see what the Lady Scots need to work on as they transition into full membership in the NCAA Division III.
The Lady Scots return seniors Kathryn Allison (Birmingham, Ala.), Mae Mae Johnson (Montgomery, Ala.), Kara Lee (Lookout Mountain, Ga.), Mo Cross (Charlotte, N.C.), and Katelyn Newsome (Aichi Gun, Japan).
