Summary

Biography

Katelyn returns for her senior season as a very strong attacking forward for the Lady Scots. Katelyn has been known to have some of the best footwork on the team every year she has played at Covenant. Prior to coming to Covenant, Katelyn played with the Nagoya Futbol Club Ladies in Nagoya, Japan where her family has served as missionaries for several years.

Her parents are Wayne and Amy Newsome. She has four younger siblings: Samuel, Mary Grace, Sarah, and Josh. When she is not playing soccer, Katelyn enjoys watching sunsets, watching sunrises, and gazing at stars. One of her favorite Bible verses is Psalm 125:2 which says, "As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the Lord surrounds his people both now and forevermore."

Katelyn is a Community Development major. During this past summer, she spent several weeks in India serving the people there and learning how to apply her major to a career. She is uncertain about her plans following graduation, but is open to what the Lord has for her and content with "anything that will keep food on the table."
