LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN -- Coming off another solid regular season, the Covenant Scots baseball team heads to Mayfield, Ky., this week for the NCCAA Baseball Mid-East Region Tournament hosted by Mid-Continent University. The champion of the tournament will claim an automatic berth into the NCCAA Baseball Championships in Mason, Ohio, on May 16-19.

The Scots received a No. 4 seed heading into the regional and will take on fifth-seed Hiwassee College at 1 p.m. EDT on Tuesday. Covenant and Hiwasse have faced each other three times this season with the Scots coming out on top in each of those contests. The winner of the first game will then take on top-seed and host Mid-Continent at 7 p.m. Tuesday, while the loser plays Wednesday at 1 p.m.

The five team field includes Covenant, Hiwassee, Mid-Continent, second-seed Oakland City University, and third-seed Bluefield College. The tournament will run from May 8-11.
