ANDERSON, S.C. -- Covenant golf was led by a freshman cohort to a fourth-place finish at the Bob Jones Bruins Classic, held on Monday and Tuesday at Cobbs Glen Country Club in Anderson, S.C.
As a unit, the Scots shot a 46-over, 622.
Porter Weeks made his collegiate debut with a 7-over, 151, tying him for sixth overall. He carded four birdies on the day. Behind Weeks were fellow freshmen
Oliver Bean and
Coleman Fleury, who shot identical 10-over, 154s, with Bean recording six birdies and Fleury four.
Rounding out the competitors for the Scots were
Ayden Cordell, who had a 19-over, 163 with five birdies, and
Isaac Randolph, who had two birdies and a 29-over, 173 for the tournament.
DJ Waller of Bob Jones won the individual title with his 1-under, 143, while the Bruins shot a 25-over, 601 for the tournament to take down the team title.

The Scots get a week off before heading to Douglasville, Ga. to compete at the West Pines Classic, hosted by Oglethorpe.
