ROME, Ga. --
Isaac Duncan and
Bo Luff each carded a 74 in Monday's first round and the Covenant golf team placed fifth in the weather-shortened Shorter Hawk Invitational at the Stonebridge Golf Club.
Tuesday's final round was canceled due to rain.Â
The Scots placed fifth in the field after posting a 312 on Monday. The Shorter B team ended up first with a score of 290.
Playing as an individual in the tournament, Duncan registered a career-best round of 74. His 10th place finish was the third of his career. Luff also put together a collegiate-best round with his 74 on Monday as he recorded his first career-top-10 finish.
Luff's round led the Scots' team score.
Kenny Duffin fired a 77 to place in a tie for 21st in the tournament, while
Titus Cooke carded an 80 and
Will DeMersseman shot an 81.
Crawford Collett rounded out the Scots with an 82.
Also playing as individuals in the tournament,
Grant Little posted a 79 and
John Livingston had an 83.
Oglethorpe's Connor Murphy and Shorter's Ty Patterson tied for medalist honors with their rounds of 69 on Monday.

Covenant will wait to see if it qualifies for the USA South Tournament (April 18-20). The top nine ranked teams in the Golfstat.com rankings earn a spot in the tournament in Spartanburg, S.C.
