SPARTANBURG, S.C. -- The Covenant golf team dropped one spot in the second round of the USA South Tournament on Tuesday and heads into the final round in eighth place following a 327 on Tuesday at the Carolina Country Club in Spartanburg.
The Scots sit alone in eighth, just one spot down from where Covenant opened the round. Methodist, the No. 1-ranked team in Division III, holds a healthy lead heading into the final round as the Monarchs are 18-under par -- 21 strokes ahead of second-place Greensboro.
Isaac Duncan paced the Scots with a second round 80 on Tuesday.
Will DeMersseman shot an 81, while
Kenny Duffin posted an 82. Duffin had three birdies in his round, including back-to-back birdies to end the day.Â
Crawford Collett and
Bo Luff each shot an 84 to round out the Scots golfers.
A trio of Methodist golfers, Henry Angier, Cameron Cappuzzo, and Cooper Hrabak, are joined by Greensboro's Connor Brown in first place headed to the final day.
UP NEXT
Covenant will tee off at 8 a.m. on Wednesday in the final round.
