LENOIR CITY, Tenn. -- The Covenant golf team improved by 18 strokes in the final round of the Maryville College Invitational on Tuesday as the Scots placed seventh at the par-72 Wind River Golf Club.
Covenant ended the 36-hole tournament with a score of 640 (329-311). NAIA member Point took the team title.
Freshman
Bo Luff paced the Scots with his 23rd place finish and two-day score of 157 (78-79). Luff carded three birdies in the final round on Tuesday after posting two on Monday.Â
Isaac Duncan had the low-round score for the Scots on Tuesday with his 75. He opened the round with a birdie and tallied three during the round as he finished tied for 36th overall with a 166 (90-76).
Will DeMersseman was tied for 36th in the field with a 163 (84-79) after posting a 79 in the final round.
Kenny Duffin also had a 79 on Tuesday and finished the tournament with a 160 (81-79).
Crawford Collett rounded out the Scots team golfers with a 167 (85-82).
Grant Little (168; 87-81),
John Livingston (171; 89-82), and
Titus Cooke (171; 86-85) played in the tournament as individuals.
