MARTINSVILLE, Va. -- Ginny Moore and Schuyler Moore had 11 kills apiece and the Covenant volleyball team swept Methodist 3-0 (25-19, 25-18, 25-19) in a USA South Tournament quarterfinal on Friday night.

With the win, Covenant (26-9) ties a school-record for most victories in a season and move on to the semifinal round of the tournament for a second straight year. The Lady Scots will face the No. 1 seed from the North in Meredith on Saturday at 2 p.m. Covenant fell to Meredith 3-0 in the teams' lone meeting this year on Oct. 25.

Schuyler Moore tallied her 11 kills with a hitting percentage of .733. She also had 18 assists and three service aces. Ginny Moore had her 13th double-double of the season with 11 kills and 14 digs. Stephanie Kirkpatrick also had 18 assists and Chloe Carlson had 11 digs.

Covenant registered 14 kills in the first set as they rallied for the set win. The Lady Scots trailed midway through the set, but rattled off 10 straight points to turn a 15-11 deficit into a 21-15 lead. Chelsea VanDyk, Schuyler Moore, Ginny Moore and Cora Schroeder each had three kills in the opening stanza.

In the second set, Covenant forged ahead 20-13 after a combined block from Pretoria den Boer and Schroeder. Methodist cut the lead to 21-17, but Covenant got kills from Hannah Rogers and Ginny Moore mixed with an ace from Carlson and a solo block from VanDyk to grab the set.

Covenant pulled away in the third set as they totaled a match-high 15 kills in the set. A kill from Ginny Moore followed by a Methodist error ended the set and the match.

Cassidy Hayes led Methodist (15-18) with 10 kills and Maggie Harris added a match-high 27 assists.
