Wise, VA- The Lady Scots' volleyball team completed a weekend sweep for the third time this season, defeating former conference opponents Bluefield College and UVA-Wise on Saturday. In the morning's match against Bluefield, Emily Dupree's errorless attacking along with Jessie Jakes' .308 attack average helped propel Covenant to victory in three quick games (25-18, 25-18, 25-19). In the evening match at UVA-Wise, Covenant tallied 18 blocking assists in another three game win (25-19, 25-20, 25-21). Freshman Jessica Chittenden accounted for 5 of these blocks, and Emily Dupree and Kaitlyn Glass each had 4.
With the victories, the Lady Scots extended their current winning streak to six matches and have not dropped a game in their last five. On Tuesday, they will travel the short distance to Athens, TN to face Tennessee Wesleyan College whom they beat 3-0 on September 8th.
