Perseverance (Persie) is one of many seniors this season who has shown great leadership through her work ethic, her tenacity on defense, and through her encouragement to her teammates. Prior to Covenant, Persie played soccer at Wilmington High School where she received the Most Valuable Player award her junior and senior seasons, as well as First Team All-Conference. She played club soccer with the Inferno Flames.
Her parents are Michael and Jayne Bray. Persie is one of eleven children. She has four older siblings: Elli (played volleyball at Methodist College), Jonas (wrestled at the Air Force Academy), Epiphany (played soccer and basketball at Malone College), and Beseda (played Rugby at Wright State University). Persie has six younger siblings: Alethea and Isaac (twins), Mercy, Nicea, Gethsemane, and Petra. Outside of soccer, Persie enjoys drawing, going on hikes with people of with the Lord, and reading a good book for enjoyment and not as a requirement. One of her favorite Bible verses is Romans 12:12 which says, "Rejoice in hope, be patient tribulation, be constant in prayer."
Persie is an Education major concentrating on the middle grades. She is currently applying to teach for two years in Uganda, but is content with wherever God wants her so long as she can "teach and love sweet adolescent kiddies."
