LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga. -- Covenant men's soccer fell behind 2-0, but fought back to draw with the Hawks, 2-2, at Scotland Yard on homecoming Saturday.

Tyler Johnson and Sam Conrad put in goals for the Scots (2-6-1, 0-0-1 CCS), as Sean Freace and Eli Daniel picked up assists in the comeback effort, with Daniel's assist being the first of his career.

The first half did not begin well for Covenant, who gave up an early goal in the fifth minute to Huntingdon's Jordan Bryant, as the capacity crowd quieted some. Later, in the 29th minute, the Hawks (1-3-5, 0-0-1 CCS) added another, this time from Exavier Ali to make it 2-0 after just 28:19 of play.

Then the comeback began. 

In the 34th minute, Johnson received a beautiful pass from Freace, and while the ball was in midair, adjusted and chipped it over the keeper Trent Wineberg and into the net for an outrageous goal that cut the deficit in half, and that score would hold the remainder of the period.

In the second half, the Scots kept pushing for the tying score, and just 3:12 in, got their wish, as Daniel found Conrad, who punched the ball into the open right side of the net for the 2-2 tie.

The rest of the half was chippy, with eight yellow cards a telling sign. The defense did their job, not allowing another shot on net the remainder of the match. The offense got one final chance to untie the score, though, but a penalty kick attempt was missed high, and the match concluded as a 2-2 draw.

Josh Shannon and Alex Ponce picked up assists for Huntingdon, while the keeper Wineberg had two saves. J.T. Tolson had six saves for the Scots.
