Being a Covenant Scot means placing the preeminence of Christ above all else. On the tennis court, that looks like showing up every day committed to giving my best—playing with effort, encouraging my teammates, and demonstrating the discipline that reflects a follower of Christ.

One of the most valuable lessons I've learned through playing for Coach Hirte and being part of Covenant College is that success at the highest level requires a complete team effort. No match is won alone. One of my favorite memories as a Scot was winning the conference championship my freshman year. At the end of that season, our whole team came together and played our best tennis when it mattered most—a true reflection of our unity and commitment to one another.

Some of my favorite memories from Covenant tennis have come from the time spent with my teammates. During my time at Covenant, I've had the privilege of building relationships with strong, like-minded believers in Christ who have shaped my experience for the better. The bus rides, shared meals, and spring break trips have been some of the most meaningful and enjoyable parts of being a Scot. These moments off the court have created friendships and memories that will last far beyond my time at Covenant.

However, giving our best effort doesn't stop on the court. During my time at Covenant, coaches and leaders have consistently emphasized excellence in every area of life, especially in the classroom. Striving for success academically is just as important as competing athletically, and that balance has been another important part of my experience.

The Lord has greatly blessed my time at Covenant, and I am incredibly grateful for everyone who has made this journey so meaningful. Being a Covenant Scot has shaped me not only as a player, but as a person, and for that, I am truly thankful.
