LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga. – Covenant played host to the Huntingdon Hawks in CCS play. The Scots jumped all over them early and cruised to a comfortable 7-0 victory.
Covenant started off quick in doubles as Graham Hayes and Brock Boehling raced to a 6-1 win over William Massey and Lincoln Young at the two spot. Ben Onufrock and Caleb Domkowski clinched the doubles point at the top line as they defeated Jack Morris and Tyler Garcia 6-2.
Gavin Patton and Lincoln Shine finished off the doubles sweep as they beat Zach Cox and Sage Speer 6-3 at number three.
The Scots raced out to 6-0 first sets at lines one, two, and three to put out any hope the Hawks had at a comeback. Onufrock was the first match to finish as he had no problems with Morris, defeating him 6-0, 6-0. Domkowski had an identical result at number two as he beat Massey 6-0, 6-0. The clinch came from Hayes as he decisively knocked off Garcia 6-0, 6-1.
Lines 4-6 in singles were played much tighter than the top three but the Scots were still able to prevail and clinch the sweep. The next result came at number six as Shine outdueled Speer 6-4, 6-4. Boehling was tested at the four spot but eventually overcame Young 7-6(4), 6-2.
Patton was the last man on court and saved five set points in a tightly contested first set before cruising to a comfortable second set, to finish off a 7-6(9), 6-0 win.
