LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga. -- Covenant women's basketball was upended by a tough LaGrange squad on senior day, 75-41, at Barnes PE Center on Saturday afternoon.
Seniors
Hannah Eidson and
Amanda Neff recorded buckets in their final home games, with Neff garnering five points, five boards and three steals and Eidson collecting two points, four rebounds, and two steals.
The Scots got off to a good start in the first quarter, as
Ora Hall connected on a three to give them a 3-2 lead early. After the Panthers went on a 14-3 run, Covenant answered with a 6-0 run, as
Violet Wright scored back-to-back buckets and
Karrie Gaines added a jumper of her own.
The second and third periods were all Panthers, as they outscored the Scots 37-16 in those 20 minutes of play.
The Scots went on a 7-2 run early in the fourth to try and get back into it, as the seniors scored five in that stretch.
That would be the final run for Covenant, however, as LaGrange cruised from there.
For the Panthers, Laila Battle had 14 points to lead all scorers, with Skylar Edwards adding 11.
