JACKSON, Miss. -- Covenant women's basketball was tripped up by Belhaven in their regular season finale, 61-47, at Rugg Arena in Jackson.
With the loss, Covenant is officially unable to receive a conference tournament berth.
Violet Wright led the Scots with 13 points and 10 rebounds, while
Amanda Neff added seven points and fifteen boards.
Ora Hall also scored 11.
After falling behind early, Covenant attempted to snatch back some momentum, which they did with a 6-0 run to end the first half. Neff scored five in that stretch.
The Blazers would tack on a few more in the third, but once again, the Scots were at it again in the final minutes of the period, as Wright notched the final three points of the period to cut it to 11.
Covenant tried to make a comeback in the fourth, getting a stretch of points from Hall, Wright and
Hannah Eidson, but that would be their last chance, as the Blazers proved too much in the end.
For Belhaven, Kiersten Hudson led the scoring with 12, while Katelyn Coleman (11) and Kamren Edwards (10) added double figures as well.
