MARYVILLE, Tenn. - In the first game of the Maryville Classic, Covenant took on Rhodes, looking to pick up its first win of the season. Unfortunately, the Scots couldn't get it done, as they were overwhelmed by the Lynx by a score of 5-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Lila Wiley, Hannah Ford, and Georgie Strawbridge each got off shots in the first seven minutes of the game, but the Scots were unable to convert on any of the three.
• Rhodes scored its first goal of the game twelve minutes in, off the leg of Reese Owens.
• The Lynx scored again at the 33 minute mark as Sophia Rall put it ahead 2-0. 
• Just four minutes later, Rhodes scored its third goal of the game as Erin Cliff connected to give it a 3-0 lead going into the locker room.
• Rhodes had outshot Covenant 10-5 at halftime.
• Rhodes scored twice in the first ten minutes of the second half to extend its lead to 5-0.
• Campbell Ayres and AnnaLi Weekley each got off shots in the last few minutes of the game, but both were missed as Rhodes secured the 5-0 victory.

GAME NOTES: 

• Covenant moves to 0-2-0 all-time against Rhodes. 
• Rhodes outshot Covenant 16-7
• The Scots were called for six fouls while Rhodes was called for four.
